While searching for your home financing you may want to consider a 10/1 Interest Only Loan. Speak with your AFR mortgage consultant to find out all the terms of this specialized program, but in general it offers an initial rate that is fixed for the first ten years and then adjusts according to the market. In addition you are required only to pay the interest portion of the mortgage payment for those first ten years. In the 11th year the payment will increase to include a principal payment which will be repaid over the remaining twenty years of the loan term.
